Scully:
Hahaha......so you were the one that would throw the tract out the window that would be found by a passer-by who was directed by angels to pick up the tract and get on the road to life...............
anyone here master the art of pressing in the doorbell without really pressing it?
how about knocking where it seems loud on the outside, but you know it can't be heard on the inside.
or standing at a door for up to 5 minutes when you know nobody was there.

i've been starting to read the apocryphal books (just for the heck of it and pure academia), you know, those books that were deemed unsuitable to be considered as part of the bible canon by the religous bureaucrats back in 317 c.e.
at the council of nicea (constantinople).
i think the bible and the apocryphal books are probably a bunch of crap, but can someone school me on them?

I think the Bible and the Apocryphal books are probably a bunch of crap, but can someone school me on them? They seem to add background and fill in gaps of many bible characters (Adam/Eve after the rebellion, Enoch, Jesus, etc). Can someone cliff notes style point out some high points?
a friend of mine who is planing his fade, has just been made talk coordinator.
so he calls me and ask 'do i want to give a talk at his hall?
' he knows my situation and lurks on this board himself.
Great topic! This goes up............

This goes up and yes.......you should do it.
this is not one of those 'farewell' threads, 'gotta' go' threads, or 'bye' threads.
because i know myself well enough to say that i would not honor my own exit - i would soon be back, .
but in all honesty, i am finding my desire to be on this forum less and less compelling.
Beautifully written portrait of your growth, Jeff. I think all of us are striving to get to where you are. When you reach the point where you're able to see your growth and move on from your past, 'tis a wonderful thing................
so 'tower conductors are talking too much, bringing their own material and not getting participation from the rest of the 'flock.
' nothing's changed.
check out the letter below....
Does anyone know how I can make it larger?

coming up, i remember how the jw heavies would brag how back in the day (the 30's and 40's) witnesses would have debates against various religous leaders on matters of faith.
they claimed the reasons the debates ceased, was they used to whip the religious leaders so bad, it became pointless.
as we all know today, witlesses want no part of an earnest deabate with any one.
I'll pick three posters other than myself: Blondie - For her exhaustive research abilities Terry - For his devastating logic and thought development Alan F - For all of the above............
who was the injured party?
in the garden of eden when both adam and his wife, eve rebelled against instructions from their landlord, jehovah.. "in the day you eat of it (the fruit) you shall surely die.".
adam and eve ate of it.
OK, I'll chime in here.....I have always struggled with the whole universal issue/introduction of sin analogy and it's never really computed with me and still doesn't. But I APPRECIATE the dialogue about this from both sides (pro & against) of the topic and the way in which the debates in this thread have for the most part been civil. This is dialogue that you can NEVER get at a kingdom hall and I love being able to MENTALLY exercise, ponder and think about the subject and its accompanying responses. Such a contrast to the brain-dead exercise routines in cognitive dissonance one receives at a KH. Thank you everyone for posting here!!! Just had to get that out............
And by the way, RAF aka Frenchbabyface, I have had such a ongoing crush on you and your pic/avatar.....you are as cute as your thoughts...........just had to get that out too...............
did anyone know fred curry?
he left bethel in the 90s, injury, went to live with mom.
scott zeida?
Yep, I remember Fred Curry. He was the assistant Pressroom Overseer. Company man who was cool with me, even though he was a butt-hole to some friends of mine. Was short and had anchor man type hair.
